Is an off-white dress with colored pattern appropriate for a wedding?
I know that you are not supposed to wear white to weddings, as it distracts from the bride. However, I have an off-white cocktail dress with a prominent red floral pattern and red waistband. Off-white is the dominant color of the dress, but the red is obvious. This is really the only dress I have that would be appropriate for a wedding...my others are either too revealing or are black. And the bride isn't even wearing white, she's wearing ivory. So, would this color of dress be appropriate? I want to follow proper etiquette, but I really would like to avoid buying a new dress if I can.
